MICA Travels home page

MICA Travels are a group of family and friends that are dedicated to raise awareness of Bile duct cancer and sepsis, two illnesses that claim 1000’s of lives each year and are barely known about. I lost my wife; our sons lost their mother and many others lost a dear friend. We as group will be doing a series of endurance activities to raise money for these charities as a lasting memorial to Carol, so that our sudden loss is not in vain.

We would like to thank the following people for their assistance.

Matt Hammond

Matt Hammond

We would like to thank Matt for helping us get this website up and running, he volunteered his skills and services to us.

Without him this platform wouldnt be as it is now, we will be forever grateful for this. Thank you Matt!

Peasgood & Skeates

Peasgood & Skeates

The family would like to thank Peasgood & Skeates for the caring professional service the provided to us during this difficult period. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate the family’s wishes was truly appreciated. We chose to celebrate Carol rather than the more traditional ways, as Carol would have preferred it that way. We all wore purple in some way, Carol’s favourite colour; we also put purple ribbons on the cars. The ceremony consisted of personal poems, music and readings from the family. A story book was produced instead of a traditional service sheet, which was pulled together by Nicki along with an audio visual of our lovely friend, sister, mother and wife.

Carol you will live on in our hearts for ever.

We would like to specially thank the following:

Nicki Hickford and the staff, from the Haverhill office, for their kindness and attention to detail so that the day went as smoothly as possible.

Mr. David Peasgood and his colleagues, for directing the day in a truly professional way and guiding us throughout the ceremony.

Carol Patton

The family would also like to thank Carol Patton, the Civil Funeral Celebrant, who spent time via phone and zoom to listen to our family’s story in detail and in turn put a truly lovely ceremony together for Carol, family and friends. Carol’s professionalism and attention to detail, from buying purple coloured candles, to suggesting giving a little keepsake to the friends and families to remember the day was very touching. Carols soft voice and calming approach helped us all throughout this emotional day. Carol took the time to get in contact a few days later, to ask after the family, which we are grateful for this little kindness.

The family thanks you all
